A starry night in Northern Thailand, lit by the splendor of a brilliant and beautiful full moon, is a glorious sight to behold.
On the full moon night of the 12th lunar month in Northern Thailand, at Tudongkhasathan Lanna, Sansai, Chiang Mai, the moon will not shine alone in the heavens. On that evening, traditional paper floating lanterns will be lit and released, filling the night sky with a magnificent spectacle of lights. Your prayers and good wishes will also soar along with them.
It is truly an unforgettable and dazzling ceremony of lights.
Thousands of lanterns are waiting to be lit and released to illuminate the sky in a spectacular display of beauty and an earnest demonstration of hope and peace. We cordially invite you to join us and be a part of this memorable ceremony. We are extending a special invitation to the first 1,000 westerners and members of the international community to participate in this grand event. This unique ceremony will take place on the 9th of November 2011 at Tudongkhasathan Lanna, Sansai, Chiang Mai. On this remarkable night the sky will be bright with lights-truly a sight to be remembered.
You will be inspired, and, at the same time, deeply moved as you participate and witness for yourself the genuine Lanna atmosphere as the lanterns are carried skyward on the light winter breezes.
You will experience the beautiful time-honored Buddhist-Thai traditions and culture, including authentic Lanna food known as Kantok.
Led by meditation, the evening will culminate with the most important ceremony of all- the candle lighting ceremony.
We encourage you to come together with your family and friends to experience this unforgettable evening.
